Lawan accepts court’s judgement disqualifying him as APC senatorial candidate

The Nigerian Senate raised concerns over the new policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria restricting the withdrawal of cash which is said to be in effect from January 9, 2023.

During a plenary session on Wednesday, the Senate minority leader, Philip Aduda called the attention of the Senate to the new policy, demanding cautionary measures to be taken on it as he said it was going to affect the majority of Nigerians, especially small business owners.

Responding to this, the senate president, Ahmed Lawan cautioned the CBN to carefully evaluate the effect the new policy will have on the majority of Nigerians before enforcing it.

The senate also fixed Tuesday, 13th December 2022 to debate the new policy from the Central Bank.
