The General Manager of the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, Afolabi Solebo has said that consumers in Lagos state are unaware of their rights under the law.
Speaking during the program POWER CORRIDOR, Solebo noted that manufacturers and marketers are trampling on the many rights of consumers in the state.
He noted that an unsatisfied consumer has the right to reject the goods and services that are not meeting up with the needs of the consumer.
He urged members of the public to always take advantage of the opportunity of the agency to seek redress when they are not satisfied even if the erring provider is the government.
He said the agency has recovered about 30 million naira from both the Eko and Ikeja Electric Distribution Companies as a form of payback for overbilling the consumer.
