A Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court in Ikeja on Monday sentenced Mohammed Alidu, a dismissed police officer, to life imprisonment for defiling a nine-year-old girl in a police barracks.
The presiding judge over the case, justice Abiola Soladoye, in her judgment said Alidu was a disgrace to the police force because he failed to uphold law and order and went about fooling around with an underage girl.
According to the judge, the prosecution has proven the accusation of defilement against the convict beyond a reasonable doubt.
She stated that the medical evidence supported the survivors’ testimony.
