In a ceremony held in Abuja, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Olukayode Ariwoola, officially inaugurated 39 new judges to serve on the election petition tribunals located across the country.
During the swearing-in process, the CJN emphasized the importance of upholding the highest standards of integrity and adhering to the principles of the rule of law while carrying out their judicial duties.
It is worth noting that previously, the CJN had already administered the oath to 307 judicial officers assigned to handle petitions arising from the 2023 general elections.
With the addition of these 39 judges, the total number of tribunal members responsible for hearing petitions related to the 2023 general elections has now reached 346.
