Atiku To Challenge Tinubu’s Victory In Court, Calls Out INEC For Rushing To Declare Winner
The presidential candidate representing the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has expressed that the dismissal of his party’s lawsuit by the Supreme Court should not be viewed as a setback in his pursuit of justice.
Atiku made this statement via his verified Twitter account on Friday.
Despite the court’s ruling, he remains determined to demonstrate convincingly that the February 25 election was marred by fraud, noncompliance with constitutional requirements and electoral guidelines set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and that the declared winner was not even eligible to participate in the election.
Atiku emphasized his unwavering commitment to the struggle for democracy and the establishment of a new order that will drive progress and development in Nigeria.
He conveyed his confidence that the esteemed Justices would eventually deliver a verdict that would serve as a fitting end to those who have usurped mandates.
Atiku called on his supporters to exercise patience and maintain a peaceful demeanor during the ongoing litigation at the Presidential Election Tribunal Court.
It should be noted that the Supreme Court, in a unanimous decision by a panel of five justices, confirmed the eligibility of President-elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to run for the presidential election held on February 25.
The court determined that the appeal filed by the opposition PDP challenging the legality of Tinubu’s candidacy lacked merit.
