The protest has led to significant disruptions on the heavily trafficked Sango-Eleyele Road in Ibadan, causing hundreds of commuters to be stranded. Students from The Polytechnic of Ibadan Protest Naming Decision

Dr. Olunloyo was notable as the first individual from Ibadan to govern old Oyo State from October to December 1983.

Students blocked the school’s entrance today and shut off access to Sango-Eleyele Road, leaving many commuters, residents, and travelers unable to proceed. As a result, several staff members could not enter the institution.

The Oyo State Road Transport Management Agency (OYTMA) released a statement from its Executive Chairman, Maj. Adekoya Rtd., advising commuters to seek alternate routes due to the temporary road blockage.
