President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has once again assured Nigerians of his Government’s unwavering dedication to enhancing infrastructure across every region of the country. He emphasized that all projects will be implemented equitably to uplift communities, particularly those in remote areas.
Speaking yesterday during the commissioning of the newly completed 15-kilometre A2 – Pai Town Road in the Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), President Tinubu restated his pledge to drive inclusive development and national cohesion.
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, who hosted the event, credited the completion of over 150 kilometres of rural roads throughout the six FCT area councils to the support provided by the President.

“This administration will continue to prioritize infrastructure in all zones. We will ensure that development is not lopsided, but balanced, inclusive, and targeted at lifting lives,” President Tinubu stated.
The Pai Town Road, linking the Abuja – Lokoja Expressway to Pai community, is part of the broader 150-kilometre rural road initiative completed since the President assumed office on May 29, 2023.

President Tinubu stressed that infrastructure must be people-centred, offering tangible benefits that enhance daily life and open up opportunities. He stated that “The road, the infrastructure development, means nothing if you don’t develop it to the benefit of our people. Indeed, this progress will continue to elevate our lives.”
He further underlined the strategic value of the project, explaining that it provides a crucial channel for social and economic progress.
“The commissioning of this newly constructed road is both symbolic and strategic. It opens a new corridor for agriculture, commerce, education, and mobility, all necessary to strengthen our national economy from the grassroots up,” he said.
Acknowledging the long-standing marginalization of rural areas, Tinubu assured that his administration is resolute in changing the narrative.
He pointed out that, “rural communities such as Pai make important contributions to Nigeria’s social and economic fabric, especially in food production and local enterprises, but their potential has been hindered by poor road access, isolation and neglect for far too long. Today, that narrative is changing.”
Applauding the FCT Minister for focusing on rural development, President Tinubu urged community members to take ownership of the infrastructure and safeguard it as a vital tool for growth.
“You are doing commendable work in the underserved rural areas. Let this road serve as a pathway to growth and a bridge to a better life for farmers, traders, students, and youth,” he told the Minister.
Addressing the persistent conflict between farmers and herders, the President advocated for mutual understanding and collaborative solutions.
“On my way, I observed the need for our great farmers and livestock owners to establish the opportunity for grazing and do what is necessary,” he said.
He also pledged Federal backing for local peace-building and economic development initiatives, stating, “we will help you, we will work with you. We will convert what used to be a liability and a source of conflict into a means of prosperity.”
