In a decisive turn of events at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has been reinstated as Speaker, following the resignation of Hon. Mojisola Lasbat Meranda from her role as Acting Speaker.

Hon. Meranda, who assumed the responsibilities of the Speaker amid internal leadership disputes within the Assembly, voluntarily stepped down after 49 days in office. Subsequent to her resignation, members of the House unanimously reinstated Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa to his position as Speaker. The House also re-elected Hon. Meranda to her former role as Deputy Speaker, effectively re-establishing the leadership structure that existed prior to the crisis.
