Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has on Monday 16th, December, 2024, signed the 2025 budget into law, remarkably just ten days after presenting the proposal to the State House of Assembly. The budget, titled Sustaining Transformation and Inclusive Development, focuses on rural development and allocates a total of N790, 439, 580, 083.
Alhaji Mukhtar Morovia, the Commissioner for Planning and Budget, provided a detailed breakdown of the 2025 budget. The budget allocation is divided into 70% for capital expenditure (N553 billion) and 30% for recurrent expenditure (N237 billion). Education takes the largest share, with 26% of the budget (N205.5 billion), followed by health (16%, N126 billion), infrastructure (13%, N102 billion), and agriculture (9.5%, N75 billion).
Governor Sani expressed his appreciation for the Kaduna State House of Assembly’s cooperation and swift passage of the budget. He emphasized the importance of this budget in driving inclusive development, creating jobs, and improving infrastructure in the state.
The Commissioner for Planning and Budget, Alhaji Mukhtar Ahmed, highlighted the administration’s focus on human capital development and agriculture. He noted that agriculture contributes 42% to the state’s GDP and is expected to increase with the allocated budget.
